Hello friends and fellow SAFE Network fans.

On December 21st, cryptocurrency exchange Poloniex announced it will delist the SAFE Network cryptocurrency MaidSafeCoin (MAID). You can read their post here.

There have been all sorts of theories behind the actual reason Poloniex decided to delist MAID, none of which I will get into here because it is what it is. If you’d like to theorize and discuss, head on over to the SAFE Network Forum or the SAFE Network subreddit.

The important dates specified by Poloniex are as follows:

December 30th at 17:00 UTC: Trading of DGB, FCT, MAID, OMNI, XPM, VTC, and VIA will be disabled.
January 30th at 17:00 UTC: Withdrawals of these assets will be permanently disabled

In other words, trading has already been disabled and you have until January 30th, 2020 to withdraw any remaining MAID.

What to do next?

If you want to invest, buy, sell and trade your options are as follows:

Bittrex, HitBTC & Chainrift.

I have personally decided to go with ChainRift for several reasons. They are US based and allow US customers (except for a few states), many fellow SAFE Network fans are doing the same based on public forum discussions which should raise the volume but also it was a recommendation that came from the CEO of MaidSafe himself, David Irvine, via this forum post.

I have since signed up for ChainRift. The process has been flawless thus far. I cannot comment too much or provide a real in-depth review as I have not yet traded or withdrawn, however, I can say that the user interface is very user-friendly and it seems to be very fast, I believe my deposit happened in under 20 minutes.

2020 should be a big year for the MaidSafe team and the network.

If you have not already, head on over to ChainRift and create an account.

If you are unsure about which way to proceed forward, there are other options. Fellow SAFE Network ambassador and forum member @dimitar posted this very helpful guide wherein he goes through several different methods of withdrawing and protecting your MAID including Omniwallet and hardware wallet options.

See you all in the new decade!

P.S. Don’t forget to sign up for ChainRift, that is where many of us envision most of the volume in the new year!
